Kim and I have been hanging out in Florida with her parents for about a week now and it’s been great. We’ve done some fun stuff and spent a lot of time relaxing. Some days the major event was just going to the beach or the pool. People here keep talking about how cold it is, but I think it’s really nice. We went to the beach and Kim and I sat in our bathing suits while Kim’s parents sat bundled up in jackets with towels wrapped around them. The wind was a little chilly that day, but it was probably like mid June back in Eastern Washington. Some days it didn’t reach 70 so we didn’t see anybody out. Today it was near 80 and we finally started seeing some people outside.
The first day we saw the Daytona Speedway. I’m not into NASCAR at all, so it was interesting but did nothing to impress me. We also had lunch with Kim’s grandma. After that we went to some natural springs, rented tubes, and floated down the the stream. Other than that we’ve been relaxing, going out to eat, and watching a few Hitchcock movies at night. It had been too long since I had a good amount of time away from work and I love it. We’re going to Seaworld before we head back to Seattle.
